Firefox OS is a new mobile operating system built entirely using open web standards, with the ability to also do the things that phones can do such as vibrate, make a phone call or send a text message.
Looking sleek in orange and white, the creator of this phone OS (in the likes of IOS and Android), Mozilla, hopes to launch the phone, with the hope to enable the Open Web as a platform for mobile devices. Mozilla aims to make innovation possible by driving the development of new Web standards. The holy grail would be that “users and developers aren’t locked in to one platform, so they can access their info and use apps across multiple devices.” Thephotos above are the new Firefox OS developer preview phones being developed by Geeksphone in partnership with Telefonica. These flashy coloured phone would be made available in February, for developers.
