The Future of Gaming, Sony’s big PlayStation 5 games reveal event finally materialised! There were lots of games that were demonstrated during the reveal event. How about counting the PS5 game shown? With a release date confirmed for late 2020, the newly announced PS5 does look pretty futuristic, with a towering white and black profile and matching accessories, such as the earlier announced DualSense 5 controllers, also in the same style. The DualSense 5 featured haptic feedback, built-in mic, adaptive triggers and is rechargeable via USB-C connectors.
The hardware innards of these new beast of a console include an AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz, 16GB of GDDR6 memory and a custom developed RDNA 2 AMD GPU that puts out a staggering 10.28 TFLOPs of processing power – amazing performance for the new console! Oh, did we say it will also ditch the hard drive, and come with solid state drive (SSD)? If you had taken 8 seconds to load Spider-Man in PS4, you would have needed less than a second on the PS5!
As for the price, there had been speculations and some informed guesses between US$399 to about US$599, the latter being a leak on Amazon, which remains to be confirmed by Sony.

For Xbox fans, the Xbox Series X was announced during E3 2019 as “Project Scarlett” and is also scheduled for release in late 2020.
